The Journey

In  2012, I noticed the lack of goalkeeper opportunities in the West Norfolk area with myself having to travel over an hour weekly to get my own training in my early youth playing days. With this I went about forming GKACADEMY. Focusing on 1-2-1 sessions at first before after a few months setting up our now popular group session at Downham Town FC. 

 

Over the coming years many keepers joined making us a leading goalkeeper group in the area. Due to the group session growing we moved venues within Downham spending a few more years there  before moving to Southery and our current venue in 2020.

​During this period in 2016 we started Norfolk's first goalkeeper tournament 'Gkacademy Keeper Wars Tournament' providing a totally new experience for keepers which started with over 40 keepers and now hosts over 90 keepers from all parts of England.

GKA Gloves was added to our portfolio in 2024 after requests from keepers to help with goalkeeper gloves. This allowed us to offer everything a goalkeeper needs with quality gloves for all ages but without paying top brand prices.

Our Aim

Since the very start our aim was to provide 'AFFORDABLE' goalkeeper training to the local area. We believe so called academy level training should be open to everyone despite if new to goalkeeping or advanced level already.

We also believe each keeper should be treated the same regardless of age, level or team playing for so at all our sessions we make sure each keeper is treated like a gkacademy keeper.
